Incident – Blyth Lifeboat called out to assist a person reported seen at risk in the River Blyth off the Dun Cow Quay Port of Blyth.

HM Coastguard called out the RNLI Blyth lifeboat to assist a person who was seen to be in danger in the River Blyth near the Dun Cow Quay Port of Blyth.
The RNLI Blyth Lifeboat was launched at 3.20 am 1st December 2012 and reached the scene at 3.21 am. On arrival at the scene the RNLI Blyth lifeboat crew took the person onboard the lifeboat and returned to the Lifeboat Station. The person who was cold after being in the water, was transferred to an Ambulance Crew and taken to Wansbeck Hospital.
The Blyth RNLI Operations Manager said ‘The operation went smoothly and the person was recovered quickly from the cold river water’.
The RNLI Blyth lifeboat returned to station and was ready for service at 4.00 am
