Blyth’s inshore lifeboat was called out on the afternoon of 2nd January 2013 to go to the assistance of a person in difficulty on-board the motor boat Blue Finn.

The lifeboat was requested to launch to assist the police and ambulance service with the recovery of a person reported to be in difficulty on-board  the motor boat Blue Finn which was located inside Seaton Sluice harbour, approximately 3 miles to the South of Blyth. Whilst on route the lifeboat was stood down by Humber Coastguard as the emergency services on scene no longer required assistance.

The lifeboat then returned to station and was made ready for the next call again.
