Incident – Approximatly five minutes after leaving a previous incident  Humber Coastguard called Blyth lifeboat to go to the assistance of the same small motor boat which had broken down again in the River Blyth near the Harbour Master’s Office. The lifeboat quickly reached the boat and went alongside. The two persons on the motor boat declined further assistance from the crew as they could get their boat to shore. Humber Coastguard then stood down the lifeboat.

The lifeboat left the scene and returned to station at 12:00  and was ready for service at 12:30.

Blyth Lifeboat Operations Manager Mr. John Scott said ‘It was good to note that the two persons on the motor boat were wearing lifejackets’.
