Blyth’s inshore lifeboat was requested to launch to assist the police who were concerned for the safety of a person in the water in Cambois bay..

The inshore lifeboat was requested to launch shortly after 10:30pm on 5th january to go and assist the police with a person who appeared to be in distress in the water in Cambois Bay to the north of Blyth near the entrance to the river Wansbeck.

The lifeboat arrived on scene and once it was ensured that  he peron was out of the water and in a waiting ambulance the lifeboat was stood down, returned to station and was ready for service again by 11:45pm.
