Blyths inshore lifeboat was launched shortly after 5pm, Monday 6th January 2014 to assist Northumbria Police in locating a person reported to be in distress on the Dunn Cow Quay, Blyth.

The lifeboat arrived on the scene just up river from Blyth lifeboat station shortly after launch and commenced a search for the person.

After 15 minutes of searching the person was discovered to be on shore, safe and well a few streets away from the Dunn Cow Quay.

The lifeboat returned to station and was made ready for service again by 6pm
