Blyth Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeboat launched to assist a boat with engine failure in Blyth Harbour.

The volunteer crew of Blyth’s RNLI inshore lifeboat were requested to launch by Humber Coastguard shortly after 4:15pm Thursday August 8th 2013 to go to the assistance of the Misty, a boat with engine failure at the entrance to Blyth Harbour.

The lifeboat crew were quickly alongside the Misty, a tow was rigged and the lifeboat proceeded up river to the Blyth Boating Association moorings.

After the Misty was safely moored up on its berth the lifeboat then returned to station, was re-fuelled, and ready for the next service call by 5:30pm.
