Incident – As the lifeboat retuned to station to be recovered for its regular sunday morning exercise the crew’s attention was drawn to a small boat which had suffered engine failure and had been tied up near the lifeboat pontoon.
After speaking to the crew of the small boat the lifeboat crew agreed to their request for a tow back to their berth further up the River Blyth. Humber coastguard was informed of the situation and agreed a tow was the best course of action.
The small boat was put alongside its berth and the lifeboat returned to station and was made ready form service again by 13:20.
