Incident – For the second night in a row Blyth Lifeboat was launched following a report of a person in the water just off Blyth’s Dunn Cow Quay. The lifeboat arrived on scene to find the one male casualty on the north side of the harbour after he had attempted to swim across the river from the Dunn Cow Quay. The casualty appeared to be intoxicated and was suffering from exposure to the cold conditions. The lifeboat brought the casualty back to Blyth lifeboat station where he was recovered to an ambulance.
The lifeboat was made ready for service again by 02:30.
