Incident – Blyth’s inshore lifeboat was called out by HM Coastguard to go to the assistance of a motor boat with two persons onboard in Blyth Harbour near the Pilot Jetty.
The Lifeboat was launched at 7:13 am and was immediately at the scene. The lifeboat crew made sure that no one was injured and then took the boat in tow back to its berth near the Golden Fleece, in the upper harbour Port of Blyth.
The crew made sure that the motor boat was secured and the two persons were safe and then return to station.
The lifeboat was ready for service again at 8.15 am.
Lifeboat Operations Manager Mr. John Scott said “The extensive training of RNLI crews and the favourable weather were factors in the successful operation”.
