Incident – HM Coastguard requested the launch of Blyth’s inshore lifebot to assist Newbiggin lifeboat in a search for two persons in an inflatable dinghy already underway around the mouth of the river wansbeck between Newbiggin & Blyth.

Blyth lifeboat was launched at 20:10 but was stood down shortly after as newbiggin lifeboat confirmed to Humber Coastguad that the two persons reported to be with the dinghy were safe and well.

Newbiggin lifeboat retrieved the dinghy and took it back to Newbiggin lifeboat station as to avoid any further calls reporting it.

A report from Newbiggin Lifeboat can be found here.
