Whilst cleaning the lifeboat following a weekly training exercise, the volunteer crew of Blyth’s RNLI inshore lifeboat were alerted by a member of the public that a male appeared to be in a distressed state on the Dunn Cow Quay, just up -river from Blyth lifeboat station.

The inshore lifeboat was quickly launched and Humber coastguard were informed who in-turn requested attendance from Police and Blyth Coastguard Rescue Team.

After approximately 15 minutes the male agreed leave the scene with Police and the lifeboat returned to station and was made ready for service again.
