The RNLI currently operate an IB1 (D Class) lifeboat “D-746 Alan & Amy” and B Class Atlantic 75 lifeboat from the Blyth Lifeboat Station.

In 2007 our IB1 lifeboat was launched on service 22 times, 11 people were rescued and £31,800 worth of craft were recovered.

In 2008 Blyth lifeboat was launched 17 times to a variety of incidents ranging from persons in the water to fishing vessels with mechanical failure and was, for the first time in its history, taken inland by road trailer to assist with the RNLI’s flood reliefe efforts in Morpeth.

In 2009 our inshore lifeboat was launched  on service 10 times

in 2010 Blyth lifeboat was launched 26 times, rescuing 28 people. July 2010 was Blyth Lifeboat’s busiest month in a decade with 12 launches.

All of this is acomplished by a volunteer crew with all equipment and running costs paid for through voluntary donations and contributions.
