The Annual General Meeting of the RNLI Blyth Lifeboat Station and Ladies Guild was held in the Watch House, North Gate, Blyth Harbour, at 7 pm 24th March 2010.

Lifeboat Operations Manager John Scott said in his report that “The Blyth Lifeboat ‘Jennie B’ had during the year ended 31st December 2009, been called out by the HM Coastguard on 12 occasions.” He also reported on crew training and development, which included crewmembers attending courses at the RNLI Lifeboat College at Poole. Mr Scott concluded his report by saying that “plans were progressing for a new Lifeboat House to replace the present boathouse, which is some 80 years old.”

The Station Treasurer in his report reviewed the financial position of the Station and in particular stated that “The Ladies Guild and the Station had raised and received donations during the year ended 31st December 2009 totalling £20,431.31.”

The Blyth Lifeboat Station Deputy Chairman in his summing up the year’s activities thanked every one for the hard work in the raising of funds and praised the crew for their dedicated service of saving lives at sea.
