Recently several students at the Bede Academy in Blyth listened to a talk about the RNLI given by Blyth’s Lifeboat Operations Manager. Later when the students were talking about what they had learnt they decided they wanted to do something in aid of the RNLI as a way to say thanks for what they had learnt. That something in aid of the RNLI was to undertake a sponsored walk. With those plans in mind they went to see their Form Teacher to tell him of their ideas. The plans were then developed further and the walk is to start from Blyth Lifeboat Station and finish at the Cullercoats Lifeboat Station. The Sponsored Walk will take place on Friday the 28th May 2010 commencing 4pm. Mr Tom Whitworth Teacher at the Bede Academy said, “It is great that the students should come up with such a splendid idea and plan. I wish them a very successful walk.”
