Busy start to an already planned busy year for RNLI Blyth.

Blyth’s inshore lifeboat has had a busier than usual start to 2013 with two service calls in three days to assist the emergency services.

The first call came at 2:30pm on 2nd january as the lifeboat was requested to assist the police and ambulance service in recovering a person from a boat in Seaton Sluice harbour to the south of Blyth.

The second call came just after 10:30pm on 5th january to go and assist the police with a person who appeared to be in distress in the water in Cambois Bay to the north of Blyth near the entrance to the river Wansbeck.

Although when the lifeboat will be required cannot be predicted or planned, fundraising and public events must be and already underway are preparations
