Early morning request for Blyth RNLI to provide assistance
The volunteer crew were woken by their pagers at 3.17am on Sunday 29th July.
The early morning request came from UK Coastguard due to reports of a person on the Quayside at Blyth.
The volunteer crew launched the D Class inshore lifeboat Alan & Amy at 3.23am and stood by on the River Blyth to react if required.
The Blyth Coastguard team who were also in attendance advised at 3.47am that the person was in the care of Northumbria Police and the inshore lifeboat was able to be stood down.
At 3.50 the lifeboat had returned to Station and was made ready for service.
