Volunteer crew from Blyth RNLI were paged at 8.36pm on Wednesday 18 April to assist Northumbria Police with a person in the River Blyth at the north end of the harbour
 
The volunteer crew launched both the inshore lifeboats and proceed to head north up the River Blyth as directed by UK Coastguard.
 
Shortly afterwards UK Coastguard reported that the person concerned was now in the care of Northumbria Police and no further assistance was required.
 
The inshore lifeboats were then stood down and were able to return the lifeboat station at 8.46pm and made ready for the next service.
