The BBC Weatherman Paul Mooney visited the RNLI Blyth lifeboat station to meet the crew and ask them to use their skills on a different sort of job.
It was a fine September morning when Paul Mooney of BBC Look North called at the RNLI Blyth Lifeboat Station. On his arrival he found some of the lifeboat crew checking over the equipment on the RNLI lifeboat Jennie B.
After formal greetings Paul announced that he had a special job for them. That job was different, he wanted the four crew members to select a picture for the BBC Look North 2012 charity calendar which is sold in aid of Children in Need.
They all went into the crew room, the four crew sat around a table on which was a computer and also some envelopes containing pictures. Paul then set them the task, select a picture which they felt showed the North East in August.
Then after much searching through the entries the four crew members, announced that they had selected the fourth, third, and second and finally the winning picture for the 2012 calendar.
Paul thanked  them for their work of looking through the pictures, and Barry Pearson, Steven Fitch, Graham Short and Kevin Alsey thanked Paul for giving them a different and interesting job.
