On Saturday 21st July 2012 Father Phillip Quinn was welcomed by the RNLI Blyth Branch Chairman Dr R Carr, was invited to open the RNLI Blyth Station Open Day.
Father Phillip Quinn then formally opened the proceedings and hoped that everyone would enjoy the activities, and give generously at the various stalls and have a lovely time in the warm sunny day.
The Chairman, and Father Quinn toured the stalls and the other activities.
After visiting the stalls and other activities, Father Quinn was invited by the Coxswain of the RNLI Lifeboat ‘Spirit of Northumbland’ to see over the lifeboat and to sail out into Blyth Bay. The RNLI Lifeboat ‘Spirit of Northumbland’ was escorted by the RNLI Lifeboats from Blyth, Newbiggin and Cullercoats, and whilst at sea saw the various lifeboats working together. On returning shore Father Phillip Quinn was met by the Mayor of Blyth Kath Nesbitt.
