The crew, operations team & members of the ladies guild of Blyth RNLI lifeboat station would like to extend their thanks to everyone who attended and helped out at RNLI Blyth Quayside Family Funday on Saturday September 7th..

A Total of 11,306 was raised to go towards the running of the lifeboat service which in 2013 has already launched on 13 occasions to a variety of incidents including yachts and fishing vessels with engine failure, a kayaker who had become separated from his kayak and a dog swimming out to sea.

Among other attractions a 175ft sponsored bungee jump was completed by nearly 60 jumpers raising a total of over 5,600.

Northumberland County Council Neighbourhood Services, Blyth Valley Arts & Leisure, Extreme Sensations Bungee, Blyth Lifeguard & Swimming Club, Northumbria Police, North East Ambulance Service, Northumberland Fire & Rescue, Blyth Coastguard Team, Blyth Battery, Territorial Army, Carnival Rides and everyone else who contributed a very successful day.
